Yoga@lunchtime

pssst…the group yoga class I offer on Mondays in Benidorm is now from 14:00-15:00…better than spending your lunch hour in a bar, ¿no?

Glimpses of the eternal

Yoga is an experiential science. There are plenty of books about yogic techniques, but it can only be learned and internalized by practice. Whenever I give a class, I try to reach that moment of expansive stillness that offers us a glimpse of the eternal.  I usually do a savasana mid-class, then sing or chant mantra.  The changing (prakriti) gives way to the stillness of silence and I can feel that wonderful ephemeral relaxation descend upon the group.  I gently ease back into movement, first observing the mind, inviting it to remain present for the rest of the practice, before doing some gentle pranic postures, like apanasana or dvipada-pitham with bandhas, before sitting for pranayama.  It’s just my way of constructing a class, my humble offering. AUM.

Friday mornings, 9:30AM

If you want to practice yoga and you live around Altea, why not come down to my new morning class?  In a light and airy 4th floor room, on the very very first line of the Cap Negret beach, the sound of the waves bathes your ears.  You breath in the freshest salt air and cleanse your lungs from within.  Hathayoga, pranayama, mantra.  Nominal charge of €5.00 (one hour class).  AUM.

Yoga classes in Benidorm

I will be offering four yoga classes per week at Prana Centro de Yoga in Benidorm.  Delighted!  Prana is in the pedestrian area of beautiful old town Benidorm.  A few short steps from the shining blue Mediterranean sea, right next to the Hotel Alameda, at number 32 Calle Alameda.
The hours are:
Monday and Wednesday 10-11 AM: Group yoga class in Spanish
Monday and Wednesday 11:15 AM-12:15PM:  Group yoga class in English.
I look forward to welcoming students who want to establish a regular practice (better rates for monthly and trimestral payment) and also anyone here on holiday who’d like to drop in for a few classes.  Please feel free to get in touch on alteayoga {at} gmail.com (change the {at} for an @) for more info.
